Get Government-Ready

Is your business prepared for public-sector opportunities?

Government contracts aren't won by finding an opportunity after it posts. They're won by being ready before it does.

Being registered is not the same as being ready, or being awarded.

Why now

Texas agencies are heading into fiscal year-end, and fall procurement activity is already taking shape across cities, school districts, colleges, and cooperatives. The businesses that get considered aren't the ones scrambling after a solicitation drops. They're the ones who were already visible, qualified, and ready. This session is where you find out if that's you.

Who it's for

Built for owners ready to grow into government work

If you've heard there's public-sector money and never quite cracked how it works, this room is for you.

Small business owners

Service providers, contractors, and vendors who want to sell to the public sector but aren't sure where to start.

Consultants & solo firms

Independent professionals ready to pursue contracts with cities, districts, colleges, and agencies.

Growing companies

Businesses that have tried to register or bid before and want to know why it hasn't turned into contracts.

Chamber members

Members of participating chambers looking to expand into government and public-sector work.

What you walk away with

Not a lecture. A result.

You leave this session with a clear read on where your business actually stands, and what to do next.

What we'll cover

Leave with clarity, not confusion

In 90 minutes you'll understand the landscape well enough to act, and know exactly where you need support.

  • Which public-sector markets may actually fit your business
  • The real difference between registration, qualification, responding, cooperative award, and an actual contract
  • The foundational documents every ready vendor needs
  • The most common reasons businesses aren't procurement-ready
  • Where your own business stands today
  • Your next three moves, and which ones you can do alone
This session gives you the map and your position on it. The turn-by-turn route (your documents, your positioning, and your bid decisions) is where working directly with LWL comes in.

Who's leading it

Taught by someone who's actually in the pools

Most people teaching government contracting have read about it. LaKesha Raynor lives it. She's a Certified Contract Trainer and workforce strategist whose firm is an approved or awarded vendor across multiple Texas school districts and a statewide purchasing cooperative. She's not explaining a process from the outside. She's in the middle of it right now, and she'll show you what being ready actually looks like.

Good to know

Questions

Is it live or recorded?
Live on Zoom, 90 minutes. You'll complete your scorecard in real time and there's time to interpret your results and ask questions, which is why the room is capped.
What do I leave with?
Your Government-Readiness Score, your most urgent gap, and a personalized 30-Day Readiness Action Plan worksheet.
How do I get the chamber rate?
Participating chambers share a member registration link for the $47 rate. If you're a member and don't have it, check your chamber's email or ask them directly.
What if it sells out?
Chamber seats and general seats are limited separately, so if your chamber rate is gone, check general registration. If the whole cohort is full, email us and we will add you to the waitlist for the next one.
What if I can't make it?
Your registration transfers to another person or to a future cohort at any time, with no expiration. Just let us know. Refunds are not offered, but if LWL cancels or reschedules you can take a full refund or a transfer, whichever you prefer.
Do I need contracting experience to attend?
No. This session meets you where you are, whether you've never registered anywhere or you've bid before without winning.
